Simply Grand

Greetings from your favorite hyper-local, micro-journalist covering the wide world of… ice cream in Kansas City, unless it’s too far away from me, in which case I’ll stay home with cookies n cream. Anyhow, when you’re as prominent a figure as me, sometimes you get a hot tip right to your inbox, and that’s how I found Simply Grand! Hey Anna, you’re how I found Poppy’s too… the influencer to the influencer!!! (I can’t find a website for Simply Grand, but they’re @SimplyGrandKC on insta.)

I visited in the early days of the creamery and oooo boy, the word I would use to describe the food is FRESH! So fresh the flavor I saw on instagram the day before was sold out. I had a scoop each of chocolate fudge brownie and cinnamon snickerdoodle, and the baked goods mixed in were perfect. The handmade cone was perfect. There’s a time and place for all ice cream places, but the ones that make their own ice cream (and their own waffle cones, sooooo goooood)… those hold a special place in my palate!
