Poppy's
This was my second or third trip to Poppy’s in Lee’s Summit. My first exposure to its existence was through a coworker’s adorable wedding photos taken there. In person, it is indeed adorable, and y’all know I’m a sucker for hand-made ice cream and fresh waffle cones!
I tasted banana cream pie, hot chocolate, and peppermint fudge before getting cinnamon whiskey and white chocolate peppermint in my chocolate-dipped waffle cone. The festive flavors were delightful, and I love that there were TWO DIFFERENT PEPPERMINTS! All I ever want in life is peppermint ice cream!!!
Chalk boards and waffles cones forever and ever, amen. It was very interesting reading the history of the business on their website. Apparently it lived in MY town for 10 years before transplanting to the significantly more affluent next suburb over. Alas and RIP to the Raytown local creamery, but good for Poppy’s for doing well where it is now. OMG, if this place was closer to me, I think you know where I’d be all the time.
Happy ice cream + holiday sweater season, one and all. Do you eat ice cream in the winter?
