Stay Home: Cookie No-Dough
My dear friend Ashley gave me Joy the Baker’s cookbook as a gift for being in her wedding. Ashley was particularly excited about the ice cream chapter, although at the time I did not have access to either an ice cream freezer or an abundance of free time… well, here we are.
After a stressful trip to the store, I was set to make cookie no-dough ice cream. Here’s the recipe online, although it’s slightly tweaked in the book. The idea is it tastes like cookie dough without cookie dough chunks, and it achieves that through browned butter and brown sugar.
It churned beautifully! I dumped in chocolate chunks at the last minute and threw it in the freezer to firm up to ice cream consistency. It comes out of the churn as soft serve.
The verdict? It did taste like cookie dough! I’d rather have the chunks, though. ;)
