Ok… I have a long and tumultuous relationship with the local amusement park… they were not a great employer when I was 15 (ok I wasn’t a great employee either but they wouldn’t even print me a name tag that had my actual name on it!)… they wouldn’t rehire me when I was 20… but GOSH I love it still. Tour Guide Tracy comes out in full force when it comes to the park… or perhaps a neurodivergent special interest? :)

We went every year growing up, and since I’ve lived in KC as an adult, I’ve had a season pass every couple of years. And these memories are tied to ice cream and the summertime! From getting scoops on the way out of the park, to trying Dippin Dots for the first time, to breaking the milkshake machine one day at work (not my normal position!). This year they were practically giving away season passes, in hopes of recovering from the panorama I am sure. I convinced my parents to indulge with me, and we’ve visited a couple of times. One thing I was excited to try: the signature soft serve!

Sold at the funnel cake shop up front, the signature soft serve is allegedly pink and has a watermelon peach flavor. Watermelon is not my flavor of choice and tbh I was looking forward to hate-trying this concoction… but it was very good, very refreshing! More peachy than watermelon but it had a kick of each. Reasonably priced for amusement park fare, as well (unlike the freakshakes to be found in the back of the park!). Don’t forget you get 10% off if you have a season pass (or if you go with me)!
