Worlds of Fun again!

Problematic fave Worlds of Fun, back at it again. I may let my season pass lapse one of these days but it’s so dang cheap lately. What can I say! Last year I tried the signature watermelon-peach soft serve for the first time, and when I was at the park earlier this summer I tried it in milkshake form.

Still tasty and refreshing! Worlds of Fun has offered freakshakes from time to time (specialty glass, cookie and whip cream on top, etc) but does not seem to have them available at this time. Which is fine, it was much cheaper in a plastic cup, I’m sure! Would you believe me if I said I’ve never had a freakshake??

But I spent more time at Oceans of Fun this summer! The closest thing you can get to ice cream there is… Dippin Dots. I got a cup for the sake of nostalgia! Dippin Dots and I grew up together, after all!

Reader, it was not great. I’ve tried Dippin Dots a few times in adulthood and each time I’ve thought, “hmm, this must not be the right flavor”… but I think I’ve done enough research now to say that none of the flavors are great haha. And rainbow ice here turned black when it melted - ick! My mother said Dippin Dots is astronaut ice cream and turned up her nose. Dippin Dots’ FAQ’s specifically say it isn’t - with the reasoning that “Dippin Dots melts, astronaut ice cream doesn’t melt.” A Strong Argument! Either way, woo to fun in the sun at Worlds/Oceans of Fun, and know that the soft serve at the front of Worlds is the best ice cream option on site.
