Carry-out: Kaleidoscoops

I’ve been itching to try Kaleidoscoops since a friend brought it to my attention. A local, Black-owned ice cream shop! Well, relatively local. Hard to motivate myself to drive clear out to Kansas by myself in a pandemic, local. BUT. I made it! With my parents.

Y’all know I am HERE for bright colors and fancy cones! I got mango and Pirate’s Bounty (m&m’s and chocolate sandwich cookies in caramel ice cream) in a peanut- and chocolate-dipped sugar cone. My mom got Jumping Jersey Cow, and my dad got… well I don’t know what the other flavor was but one was watermelon sherbet, but I could have sworn everyone was saying “Watermelon Sugar” and I’m like whaaaat is that a Harry Styles ice cream flavor??

With some light googling, I think they source their ice cream from Cedar Crest. It was really good!! They had many interesting flavors, and I will explore some more the next time I’m in the neighborhood.
