Christmas in a Cone
I’ve been itching to get to Ice Cream Bae this whole holiday season. I associate it with Christmas for a variety of reasons. It’s on the Plaza, and the Plaza has worked very hard over the decades to pair itself with the holidays. The lights! The shopping! But I also feel like I spent a lot of time at Ice Cream Bae last year over Christmas… and to that line of thought, my friend Rex assures me that, yes, we did spend a lot of the Plaza last year, because I was having iPhone woes and at the Apple store all the time. Ha!
I wrote about the Made in KC store that houses Ice Cream Bae in September. It’s a fun place all around, and I like the new wallpaper up in the plant section! At the ice cream counter itself, you select what flavor you want for the base, and then choose cereals and candies that are blended into it and also popped on as a finishing touch. It’s for the ‘gram and I love it for it. I try to stick to curated flavor mixes because I have a history of… not comprehending the philosophy of “less is more” when it comes to picking my own toppings. But I wanted seasonal and so I was on my own, but I’d say I did pretty well! This time I got peppermint ice cream with oreos and sweetened condensed milk blended in. It was Christmas in a pink cone!
Ice Cream Bae is definitely worth a visit if you’re on the Plaza, and I highly recommend it for the holidays! I went there a on a snow day with my friend Ben. We share a similar tolerance for how long we’re snowed in before we gotta bust out to beat the cabin fever, and this sweet stop did the trick! PS He copied my order but with a chocolate cone :)
I have two more posts coming up in my peppermint series! I hope you’ve enjoyed it, and appreciate that my bottom line is usually *all ice cream is good.* :) Wishing you a most Merry Christmas if that’s your thing, or a beautiful winter day if that’s more your speed, or a fantastic summer day if you’re in the southern hemisphere. Comfort and joy and ice cream, I say! xo
