Homemade Vanilla
You know what? It’s hard running an ice cream blog 15 months deep into the panini. Here’s some ice cream I made so long ago that my winter decorations can be spotted in the photos. Such is life!!! My birthday is a (quick-approaching) Wednesday and I have no idea what I’ll post about! I guess it’s technically safe to start getting ice cream with friends again but it definitely doesn’t feel NORMAL yet. And I have no way of knowing that all the service workers are vaxxed and protected. So… I dunno… burning through all my old content and waiting for inspiration to strike? What ice cream places are you excited to try?
Making ice cream is a lot of work, but I am looking forward to the summer to make some more. I don’t have any plans to travel-travel in the near future other than the annual family reunion that didn’t happen last year, but my far-flung besties are coming to me this summer! Muahaha, the trick is to live in the same area as all their parents. I hope to host an ice cream party somewhere in there!
I believe I used the Bi-Rite vanilla recipe but I could be wrong, this was truly like February. January? ha. I’m considering investing in a gallon churn but the ones that look easy to handle (aka not wooden) have bad reviews. Of course amazon reviews are SUPER FAKE, I can tell you all about that another day, but it is not encouraging. What’s your favorite topping for vanilla ice cream? Or do you eat it plain??
