Milk Bar Birthday!

Ok, let me tell you my history with Milk Bar. 1. I received a cornflake cookie baking mix in a special edition birchbox at some point - seems to me they were not that impressive when home-baked. 2. The local ice cream chain got a cease and desist letter because apparently Milk Bar trademarked the words “cereal milk”???? What a world. Anyhow I figured the real deal would be better than these wannabe attempts and have had it on my radar for quite a while…

Imagine my delight when this beauty showed up on my doorstep on my birthday! Thank you, sweet friend! The gesture truly TAKES THE CAKE!!!!

And it tasted FANTASTIC. The description reads, “three tiers of rainbow-flecked vanilla birthday cake layered with creamy birthday frosting, crunchy birthday crumbs, and rainbow sprinkles.” I don’t know exactly what a “crunchy birthday crumb” is but it was a party for my mouth!!!! I did try to cut it properly as I’ve seen on instagram (90 degree angles, not wedges! which oughta be easy without outside frosting!) but I think the May heat and humidity was a little much for my attempt. While it didn’t slice beautifully it tasted great - and I was happy to destroy the evidence!

What would you try from Milk Bar? Now that I’ve sampled the birthday cake, I want to try it all!!
