Aug 7 Old Town Churn

I visited family in Colorado this summer, and you know I had to try as many different ice cream places as I could. An internet friend recommended we meet at Old Town Churn and oh boy am I glad we did. First I scouted out its website in hopes of a list of flavors. I didn’t find that but I did see… 26… foot tall… ice cream churn… ???

And sure enough! I walked through the gates into the Exchange area and was greeted by a giant ice cream maker.

Like the one my grandpa would make his peach ice cream in, loud and messy in the garage. I could almost hear the groaning of the motor. I laughed out of delight.

I picked the Purple Cow flavor based solely on its name and greatly enjoyed the blackberry ice cream with crunchy chocolate and white chips mixed in. It was delicious.

Check out the Churn next time you’re in the Old Town area of Fort Collins, and, you know, take your car down that Old Town road and eat ice cream til you can’t no more :)
