Bi-Rite Creamery
Greetings and salutations. What a year this week has been, let alone the time since I’ve shown my face ‘round these here parts. My dog died, and friends went through losses, too. But also friends had babies! I fostered dogs and adopted Heath this spring. I’m changing jobs, kind of - changing my job location, and what my role looks like, but not my overall employer. I’m still active in the union, too, and we’ve been through ups and downs there in our continued advocacy as well. Basically, I live laugh loved, and cried plenty, too. But part of that living was visiting Caitlin in San Francisco in February! I was thrilled to go back to Bi-Rite! (I don’t know that the name comes from the fact that being Bi is Rite but that’s a fun headcanon for me.)
Located catty-corner from Dolores Park, Bi-Rite is known for its handcrafted scoops and the line out the door, but we popped by on a chilly evening so we didn’t even have to wait!
I got Banana Bonanza and Pandan Mango Swirl, and I believe Caitlin got Birthday Cake. When I have my Sweet Tooth Tracy hat on I really try to be adventurous and try something unique to the venue. But when I don’t have the hat on (not to be confused with the literal baseball cap I bought at Bi-Rite), y’all know I’m a cookies ‘n’ cream person to my core. Bi-Rite’s been there for me through a lot and it was fun to try new flavors!
