Savor some sweetness with me, won’t you?

I am a person of paradoxes (aren’t we all?). I thrive on routine and structure, and I also really like bumming around at home. I can’t wait to go back to school, and I’m terrified of going back to school. (too real?) The paradox we’re here to talk about today is, I love my local coffee shop, even though I don’t really like coffee. Ha!

Operating out of Crane Brewery, Cuento Coffee is a coffee roaster - if you drink coffee at home, order your beans from Cuento! That’s not me but I pop in from time to time for the trusty Raytona Beech Latte. It’s like, a pun on a pun - it’s made with honey from Messner Bee Farm (which I’ve gushed about before), and “Raytona beach” is like the jokey townie way to refer to Raytown. Anyhow it’s a great latte! Get in there and try one!

Anyhow what made me finally write up Cuento for the blog is I walked in and Andy, the owner, greeted me with, “I have a surprise for you! I don’t know if you’ll like it!” and disappeared to the back. LOL. He then presented me with a popsicle prototype! These bad boys aren’t available for sale yet but the Raytona Beech popsicle was not bad… IF YOU LIKE ESPRESSO!!!!!! He’s working on perfecting the recipe to be creamier - I can’t wait to try the next version!

And an exciting development - affogatos! I’d never tried one before but I figured once the ice cream got melty it would be like a latte, right? My options for Betty Rae’s ice cream were s’mores, mint chocolate cookie, toasted coconut, vegan vanilla, or lavender honey. I opted for lavender honey on this visit and it was delicious with the cold brew coffee! I’ll be back to try that again. Do you mix ice cream and coffee? Would you try it?
