Yum!

Savor some sweetness with me, won’t you?

Dari-B

Dari-B

1 2 3, it’s Dari-B! (Say it: dairy bee.) Dari-B is a good jaunt away from the city but if you happen to be in Excelsior Springs, it’s certainly worth a visit.

Open from March til Halloween, Dari-B is different. It’s rural Americana, it’s neighbors parking in the gravel lot and catching up in line together, it’s families bringing lawn chairs to make a night of it. Known for soft serve and “sangria” (a fruity non-alcoholic drink), Dari-B is old school. No website, no credit cards, no register. Just that good old-fashioned charm and friendly people! And somewhere in the back of my mind, a vague memory of going there in college with my high school friends all gathered back together.

I got one of the Dari-B Delite Sundaes: the banana boat split! Tbh it was my first banana split (I didn’t used to eat fruit) and it was a pleasant cool treat for an end-of-summer night! But this instagrammer was thwarted by soft serve, which is not my typical medium - it was melting before I finished taking pics! But never fear! I got a hot tip that next time I should try the lime shake.

Ice cream doesn’t have to be fancy to hit the spot! What treat from your hometown is worth waiting in line for?
