Monthly Mad Cakes!

Here’s the thing… Sweet Tooth Tracy may talk a big talk about trying new shops and desserts and being on top of the trends, but Marie the human LOVES to find one thing to obsess over. For quite a while Betty Rae’s was the object of my obsession affection; I believe that has shifted to Mad Cakes. They have it all! Rolled ice cream! Custom cakes for all occasions! And today, perhaps their specialty: build your own cupcakes and other grab and go cake products!

ha, this photo is actually from last winter, as opposed to Christmas in July in my last post. But I am MAD for their cake in a cup! One assumes it’s a clever way to use leftover cake but oh my gosh it is SO GOOD! The cake to frosting ratio is absolutely perfect, and I like that the cup form makes it easy to graze all day. Every time I go into Mad Cakes I check for cake in a cup, and will usually grab one to go even if I’m getting something else for the present! Pictured is S’mores but I’ve also sampled oreo; strawberry crunch; strawberry lemonade; I need to grab a Funfetti next time!

At the build your own cupcake bar, you select your flavor of cake and icing as well as your toppings of choice from an extensive list, and your cupcake is built right in front of you. Everything is so fresh and moist and delectable! My favorite flavor is strawberry, that’s even what I got for my birthday cake! They have super cute packaging and are very accommodating if, say, you want your three cupcakes individually packaged, etc.

If you’re a person who is easily overwhelmed (like me), the staff are so friendly and happy to make recommendations, and they usually have grab and go options such as the cake cups and the cupcake of the month. I cannot recommend Mad Cakes highly enough! See you there!
