Carry-out: Chick-in Waffle

Today we celebrate #wafflewednesday WITHOUT ice cream! gasp!!!! Enter Chick-in Waffle, a Westport fast casual restaurant. Order chicken served with your choice of sauce and toppings, and choose between a waffle cone or a fresh-made “bubble wrap” (love the lingo).

My mom upgraded to the bubble waffle, but I found the visual of a savory waffle cone too funny to resist! (Hot [chicken] tip: It did end up too soggy to eat by the time I could consume it.) Mom got the Canadian Buffalo, described on the menu as medium heat buffalo sauce cooled down with ranch and topped with bleu cheese and drizzled with maple syrup. I ordered the Tikka Masala, described as homemade buttermilk tikka masala topped with chives, jalapenos, and sriracha drizzle. Mine was perfectly spicy and a treat for the senses! Mom was happy with hers, too.

YUM! Who doesn’t want a piece of this?? I mean, I don’t eat much meat, but if you’re gonna indulge, hot chicken served in an ice cream cone is the way to go. Note: Chick-in Waffle serves ice cream waffles, as well, but we didn’t have room to try them on this occasion.

Oof. You know I love my signature sweet tooth but I could go for some hot chicken. Are you team sweet or team spicy? Or, what’s your favorite combo of the two???
